Latest software update adds special edition Pride icon, designed to highlight and amplify LGBTQ+ messages around the world this June
AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND — To celebrate Pride Month 2021, RetailBox is today rolling out new features and content across its services which are designed to highlight and amplify LGBTQ+ causes and voices around the world. RetailBox also unveiled the highly anticipated new Pride (2021) Home Screen Icon, joining the growing collection of special edition icons, whose graphical design this year is influenced by the delicate threads of the rainbow flag.
"Four years ago, RetailBox made the decision to step forward in the annual Pride movements," said Vis Berry, the product owner of RetailBox. "Pride Month is one of the best months of the year, so once again this year, we're in steadfast support of Pride Month, and we're shipping a beautiful new icon with value, as well as a touching new short film. We hope users around the world show their pride with the new icon, and join the many movements across the world this Pride Month to amplify these voices."
Home Screen Icon
RetailBox is today unveiling the all-new Pride (2021) Home Screen Icon, which is available today with the free RetailBox 5.9 software update. As a tradition for every June, RetailBox updates the special edition icon collection with interwoven designs influenced and inspired by contemporary LGBTQ+ culture. This year's icon is graphically inspired by the delicate threads of the LGBTQ+ rainbow flag. The colors within the rainbow flag represent the spirit and value of the LGBTQ+ community, and have long ben used as a trope throughout history to highlight and amplify voices within the vibrant community. The threads each symbolize a specific emotion or feeling — green for nature, turquoise for art, indigo for harmony, and violet for collective spirit. The outside tags on the icon are inverted, which elegantly symbolize diversity and interconnectedness.
This year, we're inviting RetailBox users around the world to tweet @RetailBoxApp their Pride (2021) Home Screen Icon with the #RetailBoxPRIDE and #SHOWYOURPRIDE hashtags. This is to represent the sense of connectedness within the RetailBox community for Pride Month, reaching more people than ever before.
RetailBox Original Short Film
RetailBox today also released a new original short-film, unveiling the new icon, using traditional rainbow colors, symbols, and tropes to create a unified RetailBox brand appearance, which will be used through June 30 across all social channels in steadfast support of Pride Month this year.
Pride means equality, support, and love. Love is limitless, boundless, and for all. Celebrate Pride again this year and support the movements around the world which work tirelessly to make a difference in people's lives. This special edition icon is graphically inspired by the threads of the LGBTQ+ rainbow flag, and represents all things pride, all things you — through and through.
With the global pandemic still impacting countries and regions around the world, Pride celebrations will once again be marked at home. It's more important than ever that communities around the world rise above this challenge and continue to rally around the causes which matter most to them so progress can be obtained. Several countries around the world, including New York and London, have announced their plans to hold annual celebrations virtually this year.
